Nervous System
Nervous System
Something about the nervous system:
1. The nervous system has millions of nerve cells in the human body. This number exceeds the number of stars in the Milky Way.
2. In a child developing inside the womb, neurons grow at the rate of 250,000neurons per minute.
3. The human spinal cord consists of around 13,500,000 neurons. The cluster of nerves located at the base of the spinal cord are most sensitive.
4. There are 43 different pairs of nerves which connect to the central nervous system to every part of our body. Twelve of these nerve pairs are connected to the brain, while the remaining 31 are connected to the spinal cord.

Lyrebird
The lyrebird in my opinion is a very talented bird, this bird is the first bird that i have seen and heard that can make different sounds like manmade sounds. If you would like to watch the video click on the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSZtoXIb7do … I think this bird is amazing I also heard that the lyrebird lives in the rainforest and in other wet dripping soggy places this bird makes sounds like: Construction workers, laser gun, two kookaburra sounds at once, it makes a sound that relates to a car alarm going off, sounds of a saw and chainsaw. Also sounds of a child’s toy gun, and more.
I am so fascinated about this bird I would like to learn more, I actually wish that I could make sounds like the lyrebird because of its amazing talent. This lyrebird is a really talented and cheerful bird. I have noticed what the bird looks like. I will describe this bird: It has jet-black beaming eyes… Its feathers are black like the night sky… Its tail has dark blue and black fashionable feathers with a recognisable colour of brown feathers. Also If you would like to know facts about this bird click the link http://kidcyber.com.au/tag/lyrebird-facts-for-kids/ and another website for you so you can read or scan for more facts just click on the link http://www.australiananimallearningzone.com/lyrebird.htm I hope you enjoy this bird just like I did.

Mothers Day Writing
Mothers Day
My talented joyful mum is a beautiful, lovely, and generous person takes a walk into the kitchen, in there she finds my siblings and I sitting on the chairs in front of the kitchen dining table.
Just then we hear sausages sizzle on the top of the frying pan as my mum cooks it, it smelt marvellous as we watch her toss and turn the sausages with the tongs. My mum dished out our lunch, few minutes later as we finalize our lunch we went and played board games with our mum, my sister won most of the games.
Our mum is active to go for a walk and loves trying new things in her life she is an enthusiastic person when there is a family event, she also volunteers at the family center here in glen innes and helps them with events along with my dad. My mum is at the age of 38 but to me it’s like she’s in her early 30s.
My mum has the talent to bake, she bakes her remarkable famous cake for us when we have birthdays which is delicious and glorious, “Mmmmmmmm” is all i hear when we dig into the cake. My mum can swim, cook, bake, and create meals with whatever is in the cupboard, when she cooked the food it was like out of this world I was speechless.
My mum is unique and loves to do her inside things like baking, cooking, creating which is fun, so she taught me how to cook, and now I cook breakfast, lunch, and sometimes dinner.
I am thankful and grateful that my mum gets to teach me heaps of things like cooking and baking by the way is really fun, she is special in all different ways. My siblings and I love you dearly.

Jam Turnover
To start the day which is Monday we decide to bake for the last week of school. Today Room 7 and 8 has chosen to bake jam turnovers, when the bell rang in the morning for us to go to class to start our learning we lined up and started our journey to the hall, Room 7 and 8 then grabbed a chair to sit on while we watched and listened to our teachers Mrs Tuakoi and Mrs Ramkolowan.
We then got into a group of four, after our teachers asked us to go to a table, we had to have two groups on one table, then we were handed a pastry then we cut it into four quarters, we each got one quarter, then we were also handed apricot jam and we scooped half a tablespoon in the middle of the pastry. We folded it in the shape of a triangle, then we were given a fork to just dab the fork on the sides of the jam turnover, we put it into the oven, while it was baking we went back to our classes and carried on with our work, a few minutes later we heard the bell ring which was noisy. " Mmmmmmmm " is all I hear as miss lamis brings in the trays with our jam turnovers in, CRUNCH is the sound I hear as I dig into my jam turnover.
